FAQ

  1. What does AFOL mean?

AFOL is short for Adult Fans Of LEGO.

  2. How come (insert name of AFOL site) isn’t included?

When creating this app, I made the decision to focus on a core set of websites that were deemed the most popular via an informal poll. Mostly me just asking my friends. Future updates may increase the number of AFOL websites in the app. If you have a suggestion to include a particular website, please use the contact form and let me know.

  3. How come (insert name of LEGO flickr group) isn’t included?

There are many, many LEGO-centric groups on flickr. I picked a few of the more popular ones based on activity and membership numbers. If you have a suggestion to include a particular flickr group, please use the contact form and let me know.

  4. Are you able to include feeds from phpbb forums, like the one on FBTB.net?

Yes. In fact, the FBTB tab originally included feeds for most active topics and recent topics from the forums, but I felt that it strayed too far from the core purpose of the app, which was to bring AFOL news to the iPhone. Future updates may include these feeds. If you would like to see this implemented, please use the contact form and let me know.

  5. What devices does the app run on

Bricking News was developed and tested an iPhone 4 and an iPhone 3. So I’m pretty sure it’ll run on iPhone 3GS. It was also tested on an iPod Touch 2g, and will also run on an iPod Touch 3g. The app will run on an iPad, but it is not a universal binary, meaning you can (and should) run the app in 2x mode for full screen display.

  6. What does LEGO think about this app?

I have no idea but I should mention that this app is neither endorsed nor supported by The LEGO Group. All their trademarks remain theirs.
